I invited the students on a volunteer basis to help create and design the 2 murals. I provided them with two catalogues containing objects and items I had created. These were to serve as their inventory of stock images to "display" the final visual scene. Students were able to access both catalogues "online". From one of the catalogues they could choose their favourite avatar or their idol/alter ego and from the other, the tools catalogue, they could select one or more "tools". They could then use their selection to create the unique and fantastical way they wanted to appear in the image. The parameters I defined served as the basis for the final, co-created image. This gave the students the opportunity to create a timeless contribution, not by displaying themselves as they actually are, but through the fantastical look they chose for themselves, which could be both from a past and also a distant future.
