Objects, Mixed Media

For years, artist Maria Ceppi has been capturing and breathing life into the poetry of the everyday that lies dormant in the most inconspicuous objects. The protagonists of her pieces are everyday objects assembled and coupled together to create characteristic art objects. They are useless, "disused", but still decipherable in terms of their origin and so far removed from their normal setting that we see them unquestioningly as sculptures. Maria Ceppi's interventions have turned these objects into the "bizarre" and dressed them with a poetic power that invokes the ways of the surrealists.
